Windows Installation (manual)

For Windows users, you'll receive a .zip file containing both VST3 and AAX plugin formats. Follow these steps based on your DAW:

Step 1: Extract the .zip File

  • Download the .zip file
    The file will contain both .vst3 and .aax plugin formats
  • Extract the .zip file
    Right-click the .zip file and select "Extract All..."

VST3 Installation

Step 2: Copy VST3 Plugin

From the extracted folder, locate the .vst3 file and copy it to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Step 3: Detailed Instructions

  • Open File Explorer
    Press Windows + E or click the folder icon in your taskbar
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
    If the VST3 folder doesn't exist, you may need to create it
  • Copy your .vst3 file to this location
    You may need administrator's privileges to copy files here

Pro Tools AAX Installation

Step 2: Copy AAX Plugin

From the extracted folder, locate the .aax file and copy it to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

Step 3: Detailed Instructions

  • Open File Explorer
    Press Windows + E or click the folder icon in your taskbar
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins
    If the Plug-Ins folder doesn't exist, you may need to create it
  • Copy your .aax file to this location
    You may need administrator's privileges to copy files here

Step 4: Verify Installation

After copying the files:

  • Restart your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation)
  • Scan for new plugins in your DAW's plugin manager

Important Notes:

  • You may need administrator's privileges to copy files to Program Files
    Right-click File Explorer and select 'Run as administrator' if needed
  • On some Windows computers, you may need to change folder permissions for
    C:\ProgramData\Epica Audio and all subfolders, to allow the plugin to automatically read your license. Without proper permissions, the plugin will prompt you to re-enter your license every time you open it.
    To change permissions: Right-click the folder C:\ProgramData\Epica Audio, select Properties > Security > Edit, then add or select a user/group and check the Allow/Deny boxes for permissions like Read, Write, or Full Control. Make sure to check "Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object" to apply to all subfolders, then click Apply and OK to save
  • If you're using a 32-bit DAW on 64-bit Windows
    Use the path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3
  • For Pro Tools users
    Make sure Pro Tools is closed before copying the .aax file

MacOS Installation

For MacOS users, installation is straightforward using our .pkg installer:

  • Download the .pkg installer file
  • Double-click the downloaded .pkg file
  • Follow the installation wizard instructions

Plugin's Format Locations

The installer will automatically place the plugins in the following standard locations:

/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins
